After looking at the squad you will notice that it is a 17-man squad, which is sally a very big squad for the home series. Usually, we see a 14 or 15-man squad for this. This squad is a mixture of Senior Players and Young Upcoming Stars. Also keep in mind that this is a World Cup Year, so all the Senior Players also the best Indian Squad have to play together without rest for a better preparation for the World Cup.
Let's start building the Playing XI.

Opening:
There are two options in the squad for Opening: Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill.
Talking individually:
Rohit Sharma: Captain of the team.
Shubman Gill: Has recently debuted in the T20I squad with an ordinary performance of just 58 runs in 3 innings with a very low strike rate and also showed a poor shot selection and got out early in the first two T20Is. If we leave T20I he has shown very great performances in ODI and Test Teams. In ODI Teams under Shikhar Dhawan, he has made many 90's.
Noting the performance and experience: Rohit Sharma

Top Order:
There are three options in the squad for Top Order: Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Virat Kohli
Talking individually:
Shreyas Iyer: Recently he played the Tests vs BAN away series in which he scored many runs and his performance was quite amazing. He also made the most runs in the year 2022 for India. Can bat flexibly at any position but Middle Order is the best place for him according to his nature of play and stats.
Suryakumar Yadav: Recently he played the T20Is vs SL home series in which he scored a century and was the leading run-scorer of the tournament. He has a variety of 360-degree shots. Can bat flexibly at any position but No.4 is the best place for him according to his explosive play where the Top Order set the stage for him and he starts hitting with a 200+ Strike Rate.
Virat Kohli: Recently played the Tests vs BAN away series in which his bat was silent and got out on simple looking deliveries for him. For him "Form is temporary, Class is forever." which he has shown many times. No worries about the form. He has gained form from Asia Cup'22 and hit two centuries in the previous year. The only thing he needs now is Consistency.
Noting the performance and experience: Virat Kohli

He won't let the team miss the senior pacers by his performace. Showed a great ability to bowl with the new ball, the old ball, and in the middle orders and showed maturity in the game.
Umran Malik: Recently he played the T20Is vs SL home series in which he bowled the fastest bowl by an Indian Pace where he clocked 155 kmph. A very nice tournament for him. A good option with a raw pace.
